Deaf-Blind Service Center proudly presents:

WHAT IS A SSP?

Are you interested in knowing what a SSP is and how to become one?  If so this workshop is for you!  This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to learn the criteria of becoming a Support Service Provider (SSP).

This topic will cover:

  • Guiding techniques
  • Information on communication modes
  • Techniques on how to provide visual & environmental information
  • Roles/Ethic Codes of SSP including boundaries

Instructors:  aj granda and Sandy Sallee

aj is a DeafBlind professional, who uses tactile ASL.  Sandy is the SSP Coordinator for DBSC.  Together they will give you a "real" taste of the DeafBlind world and being a SSP!  Voice interpreters will NOT be provided.
