March 2010
Dear the Community,
This is an official announcement that my last day as an Executive Director of Deaf-Blind Service Center will be March 31, 2010. However, I will continue to work as the Project Director of the National Support Service Provider Pilot Project on a contractual basis.
This was a very hard decision for me because of my passion for DBSC and its staff for five years. I enjoyed so much seeing DBSC grow stronger and healthy despite many challenges.
From the time I started as the Executive Director in 2005, I was very much involved with many transitions that made DBSC into the strong organization that it is today. My passion and excitement for DBSC has grown, and these feelings I have for DBSC will continue after I leave. I cherish the memories of how great it is to serve as the executive director and how important it is for the Deaf-Blind world to see a Deaf-Blind role model making many new opportunities for others. So all deaf-blind individuals can be inspired to be all they can be.
I want to thank everyone who supported me unconditionally and had faith and confidence in my leadership. I look forward to my continued involvement in our community.
Sincerely yours,
Jelica Nuccio
